Ardas Kundalini is an independent business. Personal information is collected only where there is a clear reason to do so, and only as much as is needed for the way you choose to engage with the business.
This policy explains what personal information Ardas Kundalini may collect when you engage with the business, how that information is used and how it is handled. This may include when you visit the website, contact Ardas Kundalini, make a booking or purchase, join the mailing list, attend a class, workshop, or consultation, or work with the business privately.
What information is collected
The information held will depend on how you engage with Ardas Kundalini. It may include:
your name and contact details;
information connected with an enquiry, booking, purchase or consultation;
correspondence with Ardas Kundalini;
information you choose to share that is relevant to a private session, consultation or your participation in a class;
relevant health or physical information, where you choose to provide it;
your email preferences; and
basic information about how you use the website.
Most of this information comes directly from you. Limited information may also be received through a booking or payment service that you have chosen to use.
Only information that has a genuine connection to the service being provided, or to the way you have chosen to engage with Ardas Kundalini, is collected.
If a class or workshop is specifically offered for children or young people, only the information needed to arrange and safely deliver that session will be collected, normally through a parent or guardian.
How your information is used
Personal information is used to respond to enquiries, arrange and manage bookings, provide classes, workshops, private sessions and consultations, process purchases, and send information connected with something you have booked.
Some information is also needed for the ordinary running of Ardas Kundalini, including maintaining appropriate financial and business records and understanding how the website is being used.
Depending on the reason for using the information, the legal basis will usually be because it is needed to provide a service you have asked for (contract), because there is a reasonable and proportionate reason connected with running the practice (legitimate interests), because there is a legal obligation to keep or use it, or because you have given your consent.
Where information is necessary to complete a booking, purchase or requested service, it may not be possible to provide that service without it.

Health information, private sessions and consultations
There may be times when it is helpful for Ardas Kundalini to know about something that could affect your practice, such as an injury, pregnancy or health condition.
Please only share what is relevant. A general medical history is not needed in order to take part in a class or work with Ardas Kundalini.
Health information receives additional protection under data protection law. Where you choose to provide it, it is used only where relevant to supporting your participation or practice and, where required, on the basis of your explicit consent.
Private sessions and consultations can also involve personal information that you choose to share. Brief notes may sometimes be retained where they are useful for continuity in ongoing work with you. These are kept confidentially, used only to support that work, and kept only for as long as they remain necessary.
Information shared through private work is not used for unrelated purposes such as marketing.
Recordings
Private consultations and private sessions are not recorded as standard. Any recording will only take place where this has been expressly agreed in advance between Ardas Kundalini and the client(s) involved.
Classes, workshops and other events may occasionally be recorded. Where this is planned, it will be made clear in advance.
Email updates
If you choose to receive Ardas Kundalini email updates, your details are collected through the website and managed through Squarespace.
These emails may include information about workshops, events, new offerings and other Ardas Kundalini updates.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in the emails you receive.
Unsubscribing from general updates does not prevent necessary communication about something you have booked.
The website, bookings and payments
The Ardas Kundalini website is built and hosted through Squarespace. Like most websites, it processes some information about visitors so that the site can operate properly and securely and so that its use can be understood.
The website also uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to function. Other cookies may be used for purposes such as understanding how the site is used. Where a choice is required, you can manage this through the website's cookie controls.
Bookings, purchases and other website functions may use services provided by Squarespace or other providers connected to the site.
Where payment is made online, the payment information needed to complete the transaction is handled by the relevant payment service. Ardas Kundalini does not receive or store your full card details.
Some of the services used to operate the website and practice process information internationally. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, the relevant provider must use protections recognised by UK data protection law.
Apart from the services needed to operate Ardas Kundalini, personal information is not routinely shared with other organisations. It may be disclosed where there is a legal requirement to do so.
How long information is kept
Personal information is kept only for as long as there is a reason to retain it.
How long that is will depend on the information and why it was collected. An enquiry that goes no further will not normally need to be kept for as long as information forming part of a booking, purchase or ongoing relationship with Ardas Kundalini.
Transaction and accounting records may need to be retained for longer to meet legal and tax requirements.
Health information, private-session notes and other personal information connected with ongoing work are kept only for as long as they remain relevant to the reason they were provided or recorded.
Information that is no longer needed is deleted or securely disposed of.
Your information and your rights
Data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. Depending on the circumstances, these include asking for a copy of the information held about you, having inaccurate information corrected, asking for information to be deleted or its use restricted, objecting to certain uses of your information, and asking for information you provided to be transferred where that right applies.
Where information is being used on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
You can object at any time to your personal information being used for direct marketing.
