Kundalini Meditation Times & Durations
Different meditation lengths have different effects.
In Kundalini practice, specific time intervals are used repeatedly because they work on the system in distinct ways.
The durations below are commonly used and give clear structure for how long to stay with a practice. How long you stay inside a practice each day is part of the picture. How many days you stay with the same practice changes the effect as well.
3 minutes
Affects the electromagnetic field and circulation, and begins to shift the body and mind out of its current state.
7 minutes
Starts to influence the glands and nervous system, bringing a more noticeable internal response.
11 minutes
Begins to change the nervous system and glandular balance, helping to stabilise a new state.
22 minutes
Allows the three minds (negative, positive, and neutral) to come into balance.
31 minutes
Affects all cells, tissues and organs, and allows deeper patterns to be worked through.
62 minutes
Changes the grey matter of the brain and integrates the subconscious with the external mind.
2.5 hours (150 minutes)
Re-patterns the subconscious mind and establishes a new habit or pattern of awareness. Wahe Guru!
The same meditation can feel completely different depending on how long you stay with it. What changes is not only the duration, but how deeply you are able to settle into the experience.
